Bulldog drags Shatta Wale to High Court for defamation

Bulldog also wants general, special and punitive damages slapped against his former artiste “for the malicious publication of falsehood against the Plaintiff”.

Artiste manager Lawrence Nana Asiamah Hanson, popularly known as Bulldog or Bullgod, has filed a writ at an Accra High Court against danchehall artiste Shatta Wale over the latter’s recent comments about the murder of Fennec Okyere in 2014.

The writ, filed on Monday, November 7, is praying the Court to, inter alia, order Shatta Wale to make a publication of retraction of his “defamatory” words and apologise unreservedly on seven consecutive days.

Bulldog also wants general, special and punitive damages slapped against his former artiste “for the malicious publication of falsehood against the Plaintiff”.

This follows a recent publication on Facebook by Shatta Wale about how his former manager confided in him in 2014 about a plan hatched to murder Mr Okyere.

Shatta Wale, born Charles Nii Armah Mensah Jr, has since been invited by the Cold Case Unit of the Ghana Police Service for interrogation.

In his writ, Bulldog claims the recent publication by Shatta Wale implies that he (Bulldog) is “a criminal gangster and a danger to society and ought to be in jail (rather than walk freely in the streets)”.
