A police officer has allegedly impregnated a 17-year-old senior high school student and made her take herbal concoctions to abort the pregnancy at Bogoso, the capital of the Prestea-Huni Valley District of the Western region.
According to Daily Mail Gh sources, the suspect, Lance Corporal Emmanuel Alode, and the victim’s father are tenants in the same house.
Anytime, the mother of the victim, who is a midwife and works at Wassa Akronpong isn’t around, Lance Corporal Alode would lure the victim to his room and has his way with her.
About three weeks ago, while in school, the victim exhibited unusual behaviors. She blacked out on several occasions, compelling the assistant headmaster of the school to reach out to her mother. She informed the victim’s mother of her daughter’s condition who was taken to the hospital.
When a pregnancy test was conducted on her it proved positive. Further tests revealed that the pregnancy had been tampered with.
The 17-year-old then disclosed to her mother that the police officer was responsible for the pregnancy. She said he had taken her to a hotel and made her take medicine to terminate the pregnancy.
Lance Corporal Alode and the victim are currently assisting the Western Regional Police Command in investigations.
