International Investors to explore Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Area’s Economic and Tourism potentials

The collaboration aims to harness the beauty of the waterfalls to attract visitors from near and far, contributing not only to the local economy but also to the preservation of the region’s natural heritage.

Kyidomhene for the Sefwi Wiawso traditional council, Nana Elluo Panin III, has announced that the traditional council has received visits from foreign investors with ambitious plans for the development of the region.

The initiatives, if realized, have the potential to transform the Sefwi Wiawso Traditional Council into a hub of economic growth and cultural tourism.

Nana Elluo Panin III revealed that a group of investors hailing from Israel had paid a visit to the traditional council with a captivating proposal – the development of the recently discovered Waterfalls at Bonzian and Dweneho.

These enchanting natural wonders, tucked within the Sefwi Wiawso traditional council, have been earmarked for transformation into world-class tourist sites.

The collaboration aims to harness the beauty of the waterfalls to attract visitors from near and far, contributing not only to the local economy but also to the preservation of the region’s natural heritage.

Not stopping at this, Nana Elluo Panin III shared that investors from Japan had also expressed their keen interest in partnering with the local government to establish a cocoa processing factory in the area.

This endeavour is expected to pave the way for job creation, particularly benefiting the youth of the region. As cocoa holds a significant place in the economic landscape of the area, the factory would not only enhance the value chain but also offer a sustainable source of employment for the community.

During his statement, Nana Elluo Panin III fervently appealed to the indigenes of Sefwi Wiawso, both within and those residing abroad, to join hands in attracting further investment to the area.

The traditional ruler emphasized that increased investor interest would not only bolster the economic prospects of the area but also foster a sense of community empowerment and pride.

Nana Elluo Panin III made this known during a media engagement at the launching of the MTN 2023 Eluo Festival at the Pastoral Centre in Sefwi Datano.
