‘Kumawu does not belong to a particular political party ‘- NDC warns NPP ahead of Kumawu by-election
“We have the conviction that we have won the Kumawu seat already. We know that we are going to go into this election peacefully. However, if somebody thinks traditionally Kumawu belongs to a particular political party hence he is going to go against the laws and engage in any violence, then they will have no one to blame.”
The National Democratic Congress’ (NDC) Ashanti Regional Organizer, Mr. Isham Alhassan, has warned the incumbent New Patriotic Party (NPP) from entering the Kumawu by-election with violence.
According to him, given the amount of work that has already been done on the ground, the NDC is certain that it will win the by-elections.
“We have the conviction that we have won the Kumawu seat already. We know that we are going to go into this election peacefully. However, if somebody thinks traditionally Kumawu belongs to a particular political party hence he is going to go against the laws and engage in any violence, then they will have no one to blame.” Mr. Isham Alhassan warned on Kumasi-based Angel FM.
He claims that the party in the Ashanti Region is ready for the election and has completed its preparations in secret.
“My team and I have been to Kumawu severally anytime there has been a by–election in the area. We know that we are going to take Kumawu and the entire country by surprise”, he served notice.
He said the NDC’s goal has always been to capture the Kumawu seat and added that the NDC has already begun preparing for the 2024 elections before the by-election.
