Let Your Foundation Be Strong So That…– Pastor Nyamekye to Christians

Junior Pastor (JP) of Havilah City of Prayer International Ministry, J.P. Nyamekye has charged his congregants in particular and Christians in general to endeavour to make their foundation strong, so that, like Peter in the Bible, the Church could be built on them.

“Let your foundation be strong, so that they can build the church on you”, he charged, in a sermon at the church auditorium at Aankain in Sefwi Juaboso, on Sunday, July 4, 2021. The Pastor, who was holding the fort for his Head Pastor, Gershion Gbedemah, aka Pap Gee, quoted Matthew 16:13 – 19 to support his sermon.

He maintained that if one behaved like Peter and had a strong foundation to enable the church built on him, the benefits thereon would be enormous as his generation yet unborn will also benefit from it; albeit via constant intercessional prayers.

BE READY FOR CRITICISM

The charged J.P, as he is affectionately called, was quick to point out that any person so determined should be ready to accept criticisms. Quoting his Senior Pastor, Pap Gee’s saying that “If you cannot stand criticism, don’t pray for God’s blessings”. J. P. Nyamekye pointed out that once one decides to do God’s work, he is bound to be subjected to numerous criticisms from all angles. Nevertheless, one should stand firm for the burden he has taken upon himself. He posed a rhetoric question with such if what was said to the disciples could be told the contemporary christian.

EXAMINE YOURSELF

With the theme of his sermon as “Examine or check yourself”, he charged his audience to examine or check themselves in the work of God. He subsequently gave three reasons by which one could examine himself to endure in God’s work. These he mentioned as one’s relationship with God, that with his neighbours and that with the church. Theses, J. P. pointed out that they should be excellent, backing them with verses like Romans 10 – 13, Philippians 23 and Ephesians 5:25.

DIVERSIFICATION AT CHURCH

Besides serving the spiritual needs of the people, Havilah has taken upon itself to satisfy their physical, social and medical needs. Subsequently, the church invites professionals from various professions to talk on various subjects. That day’s talk was delivered by Mighty Man Joseph Afful, whose talk was on Typhoid Fever, its sources, symptoms, prevention and cure. Mighty Man Afful is a Nurse by profession.
