Mahama Names Running Mate?
A statement signed by Fifi Kwetey, the General Secretary of the NDC stated that the Council of Elders meeting will be followed by a meeting by the National Executive Committee (NEC) to deliberate on the matter.
The Council of Elders of the opposition National Democratic Congress will on Thursday March 7, 2024 meet over the running mate nominee by the Presidential Candidate, John Dramani Mahama.
This follows the submission of a nominee to the Council by the Former President pursuant to Section 45 of the Party’s Constitution.

Even before the nomination, there was a ground-swell of calls on Mr. Mahama to consider appointing a woman as his running mate as in the last elections.
It is unclear whether the NDC Presidential candidate will stick to Jane Naana Opoku Agyemang as his running mate for the December elections,
