As part of his efforts to eliminate the “lack of furniture syndrome” among basic schools in the Wa East district, the Member of Parliament for the WA East constituency, Dr Godfred Seidu Jasaw, has procured and donated dual metal desks to some junior high schools in the area.

The beneficiary Schools include Funsi R/C JHS, Kunyebin JHS, Loggu JHS, Jeyiri JHS, Bulenga JHS, Manwe JHS, Gudaayiri JHS and Baayiri JHS.

This is part of the first phase of equipping the basic schools in his constituency with good furniture to aid teaching and learning.

According to the MP, the desks were made of metal so that they could last longer and could easily be maintained when broken down. The lawmaker called on the District Assembly and other non-governmental organizations to complement his efforts in confronting these challenges.

The MP and the Wa East education director in their visits to beneficiary Schools in the district to hand over the desks to the beneficiary Schools took turns to address the pupils, teachers, and parents.

The MP told them he was fully aware of the enormous challenges facing the education sector in the district and that he will do everything within his means to get them resolved.

The headteachers on behalf of the pupils, teachers, and parents thanked the MP for his relentless efforts in confronting the education sector challenges in the district.

They can only wish the MP good health and God’s protection for him to continue to serve his constituents.
