MultiChoice Ghana Organizes Free Breast Cancer Screening for Staff
MultiChoice Ghana is excited to take this step toward better health outcomes for our staff and remain committed to promoting employee well-being and community health as it marks thirty years of operations in Ghana.
As part of activities to commemorate Breast Cancer Awareness Month and promote the health and early detection of breast cancer, MultiChoice Ghana, the leading Pay-TV company in Ghana, has partnered with Barnor Memorial Hospital to organize a free breast cancer screening for staff and customers at its head office in Abelenkpe, Accra.
Breast cancer is a prevalent health concern, affecting one in eight women of all backgrounds and demographics globally. According to Aramansah Barnor Spio-Garbrah, Family Physician Specialist and the Executive Director of Barnor Memorial Hospital, “early detection of breast cancer through regular screenings can make a substantial difference in treatment outcomes.” She was glad MultiChoice Ghana was taking proactive steps to ensure the health and well-being of its employees.
The free breast cancer screening program took place on Friday 20th September 2023 and was conducted by the expert medical team from Barnor Memorial Hospital. This program underscores MultiChoice Ghana‘s commitment to the health and wellness of its staff. Staff were clad in pink united in a colorful display of solidarity and commitment to ending breast cancer.
“MultiChoice Ghana recognizes the importance of early detection in the fight against breast cancer,” said Matilda Asare, Head of Human Resources at MultiChoice Ghana. “We are proud to collaborate with Barnor Memorial Hospital to provide our staff with this essential service, which not only supports their health but also emphasizes our commitment to corporate social responsibility.”
The screenings included a comprehensive examination and consultation to ensure staff members received the best possible care and guidance. MultiChoice Ghana encourages, especially its female staff and customers, to take advantage of such opportunities and prioritize their health. The session was preceded by a health talk elucidating on some of causes, symptoms, and actions to take when one finds a lump in their breasts.
