Northern Regional Minister appeals to the youth to embrace peace
He advised the youth to desist from hard drugs and also violence during this year election and after.
The Northern Regional Minister, Hon. Alhaji Shani Alhassan Shaibu, has extended an appeal to the youths to promote peace in the Northern sector during the 2024 general elections to enhance developmental initiatives in the region.
He said the youths in the region should shun violence and embrace peace and unity for sustainable development
and socio-economic prosperity.
The minister said this in an interview in Tamale as part of his new year message to the people in the Northern region.
He advised the youth to desist from hard drugs and also violence during this year election and after.
“Goverment has recognized the important role the youth play in the progress of society and should not allow themselves to be brainwashed into carrying arms to perpetrate violence in the region,” he added.
He also called on the people in the region to always uphold peace and security, reject religious extremism in all its forms, rather they should embrace peace and unity among themselves.
