NPP Decides: Massive welcome for Alan in Kumasi

New Patriotic Party (NPP) presidential hopeful Alan Kyerematen arrived in the Ashanti Regional capital Kumasi to a rousing welcome, Monday.

A charged crowd thronged the Kumasi Airport to welcome Mr Kyerematen, who had organised a thanksgiving service in the capital Accra on Sunday.

The supporters, some of whom were on motorbikes and clad in party colours led the former Trade and Industry Minister from the Airport to the Manhyia Palace, the seat of the Asantehene Otumfuo Osei Tutu II.

The NPP stalwart is seeking the blessing of the monarch as he intensifies his campaign to lead the governing NPP ahead of the 2024 polls.

He is also expected to meet the party’s Regional Officers to officially announce his presidential bid, a member of his campaign team Yaw Buaben Asamoah told the press.

Mr Kyerematen will also address a mammoth rally at the Kumasi Sports Stadium’s Heroes Park, Asamoah indicated.
