Please grandpa don’t talk if you don’t have anything to say – Social media users attack Prof. Stephen Adei over dumsor comment

“It is quite unfortunately, we should be very careful, it is not as bad as dumsor days but if we don’t (take it will be very worse so the first thing is that to look at, if there are bottlenecks which are not allowing us to use the existing capacity to the fullest, must be addressed. But in the long run, we must have a national strategic agenda.”

Social media users have attacked former Rector of the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration (GIMPA) and former Board Chairman of the Ghana Revenue Authority (GRA) Prof Stephen Adei over his comment on the power crisis.

The Educationist in an interview with TV3 stated that “It is quite unfortunately, we should be very careful, it is not as bad as dumsor days but if we don’t (take it will be very worse so the first thing is that to look at, if there are bottlenecks which are not allowing us to use the existing capacity to the fullest, must be addressed. But in the long run, we must have a national strategic agenda.”

Reacting to his comment, some social media users said it is too quick to make comparisons since the power crisis has just started under the Akufo-Addo government.

“Too quick to make comparisons. We just started Prof.” One user said.

Others believe Professor Adei should have said something better than what he said.

“Please grandpa don’t talk if you don’t have anything to say. Why should the NPP bring back any semblance of dumsor when they promise they can do better and we voted for them” Another one added.

Some lamented that the older people in the country are not making a good contribution towards National building.

“These old ppl are not contributing anything to the country”

But others Prof. Adei did not say anything wrong.

“He said nothing wrong, he meant it’s not as bad as it was back then until it gets worse, that’s facts…don’t try painting him black taking only the first part of his words as caption…his context meant government should prioritize solving dumsor before it gets worse or too late”

“You don’t have to be posting nonsense comments from these useless politicians. They used taxpayers money to buy generators so, they don’t know how we’re suffering down here. The current @NAkufoAddo & @MBawumia #DumsorIsBack situation is worse than @JDMahama NDC government.”
