Techiman Dagaaba Naa advises youth to adhere to their culture,values

“We are approaching this year’s elections and our chief wants all of us to be mindful of our activities and desist from all politically related violence.

The Techiman South Municipal Dagaaba Chief, Naa Dasah, has urged the youth to adhere to their culture and values while uniting and respecting the he laws of the land,

He said such behavior carries important messages about identity, unity, and civic responsibility and will therefore want all Dagaabas in Techiman to exhibit such traits in all their endeavors.

Speaking on behalf of Naa Dasah, the Public Relations Officer for the Dagaaba community in Techiman, Mr Charles Nanpelle urged the youth to adhere to their culture and values while emphasizing on the importance of preserving traditions, customs, and heritage.

“Cultural identity plays a vital role in shaping individual and community identities by fostering a sense of belonging, and maintaining social cohesion.” He said

He further explained that they are settlers and that they should respect all the traditions and laws governing Techiman. According to him, the youth is the future of the Dagaaba community in Techiman and as such must desist from any behavior that is not acceptable in the community.

“I advised them not to forget about the fact that we  are settlers in Techiman and we must be united as a community and adhere to the laws of the land.”

“I urged them to be very mindful of how they execute their duties, especially those that have been in leadership positions, the future of the Techiman Dagaaba community is our youth and if we can prosper, it will depend on our youth.”

Mr. Charles further urged the youth to be careful on how they use social media and further cautioned them against any form of election violence during this 2024 elections.

“We are now in a digital era and we can prosper through technology but most of our youth abuse social media, they use it for illegal and uncultured things instead of using it for the good of the community, we the Dagabaas are very respectable and as such we shouldn’t use social media to abuse anybody.”

Mr. James Mwinwel president for Techiman Dagaaba Youth association said the association was formed to support each other and also an avenue to propagate the cultural valves of the Dagaare tribe.
