The people of Hohoe in the Volta Region, say that they are fully behind the Member of Parliament elect, Mr. John Peter Amewu as legal battle against his victory in the December 7, 2020 elections rages on.

According to them, Mr. Amewu has displayed that he was the man for the job and it will be suicidal to betray him.

“Our man worked and is working hard for the well-being of the people of the area than never before by any other politician and what it means is that he must be allowed to work,” they said.

The National Democratic Congress (NDC) is challenging the legitimacy of Mr. Amewu because the Electoral Commission did not allow legitimate voters in Santrokofi Akpafu, Lolobi and Likpe (SALL) to be part of the December 7 elections.

The NDC is moving to prevent the Electoral Commission to Gazette Mr Amewu.

But the Hohoe residents are saying that they have not heard of any legal battle as all they know is that the man with development of the area in the person of Mr. Amewu has been elected to serve them.

Henry Mawutor, Businessman said that they would stand by Mr. Amewu forever.

“Efo Peter has shown that he is the man for the area and even before the election, he did what has not been done for the area over the years,” he said.

Alhaji Mohammed Muftaw, on his part said that the love that residents of Hohoe and beyond have for Mr. Amewu is above partisan politics.

He said that the Energy Minister is the best person to serve in the interest of the people of the area.
