Some of the youth of Taifa said they were expecting Oquaye Jnr to facilitate a “connection” to India and other nations abroad for the youth to prove that if they make him MP he will do more.

On the contrary, they say Adwoa Safo herself and sometimes through her Aide ensures they are well taken care of and when they have police cases, she is at hand to intervene even if she is not present.

Okada Riders at Ashongman Estate Pure Water said their only major complaint against Adwoa Safo is their very bad road. However anytime they have police problems, Adwoa Safo and some of the constituency executives are at hand to help them.

They say most cases involve motorbike seizures and petty quarrels that get to police but not “serious criminal cases”.

A group of Mechanics on the Ga East Hospital Road however said Adwoa Safo’s absence affected them as they were ejected from their traditional base at the Atomic Down Post Office area on short notice without their MP available to speak for them.

“She has not even visited us before to see how we are doing so they should remove her for someone else to come if that will help.”

Asked what they think of Mike Oquaye Jnr, most of the residents said they have heard “his hand is hard”.

Related to the constituency, on Friday, 29th July 2022, President Akufo-Addo cut the sod for the construction of the $35 million Dome-Kitaase Road, a twenty-three-kilometer stretch of road connecting the Accra to Kumasi road to the Accra-Aburi-Koforidua road, and provides an alternate route to road users between Accra and Aburi.

Mike Ocquaye Jnr was seen among the dignitaries during the event sending signals as to whether Akufo-Addo is propping the alleged “chisel man” to replace Adwoa Safo if there is a by-election.

On the floor of Parliament, Speaker of Parliament Alban Bagbin declined to declare the Dome Kwabenya seat vacant even after the Privileges Committee Chairman said the seat is vacant and called for a by-election.
