We’ll call off strike if you drop Court Case against us – UTAG tells NLC and Govt.

UTAG members served the notice after an emergency meeting with the National Labour Commission (NLC) and Employment and Labour Relations Ministry.

The University Teachers Association of Ghana (UTAG) has said it will call off its strike when the National Labour Commission (NLC) and the government drop a court case against its members.

UTAG members served the notice after an emergency meeting with the National Labour Commission (NLC) and Employment and Labour Relations Ministry.

The meeting concluded in a memorandum of agreement that “whilst the Ministry of Employment and Labour Relations in conjunction with the National Labour Commission (NLC) is taking steps to discontinue all legal processes against UTAG, UTAG will also take steps to suspend the ongoing strike action.”

UTAG is demanding the implementation of a 2012 Single Spine package which put entry-level lecturers on a salary of $2,084.
