Beauty they say, lies in the eyes of the beholder, however when one gets overwhelmed with the beauty of Female Immigration officers across the country, it is justified to ask the interior minister how these beautiful women get recruited into the Ghana Immigration Service.
Minister of Interior, Ambrose Derry has said he was confronted with a dump question from a man at the airport seeking to know if the ministry collaborates with a modelling agency to recruit ladies for the Ghana Immigration Service – because they are too beautiful.
The minister says he answered him politely that, these ladies are recruited based on their competences but any other observation should be his problem.
“Look at the officers, they look really smart on both sides. Anytime we are going to recruit, 7 out of 10 say they want Immigration – I say, tell me: why do you want Immigration? One day someone told me a dump thing at the airport. He asked, Minister can I ask you a question? I said go on, I am a servant of the state and he said do you conduct a beauty contest before recruiting ladies into the immigration service? And I told him, we recruit based on their competence, thus all”
