"The Great Transformation Plan will provide “Jobs for the People, Cash for the People.”

Former Trade and Industry Minister, Alan Kwadwo Kyerematen has stated that when elected as the next President of Ghana, he will deploy the use of his “Great Transformation Plan” (GTP) to solve the socio-economic challenges of the country. He has subsequently denounced his membership of the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP), opting rather to contest the next presidential election as an independent candidate.

“The GTP will significantly deal with poverty, and bring prosperity to the nation,” he stated.

Mr Kyerematen said the GTP will be anchored on Ten Pillars, including; Building a strong macroeconomic environment, introduce a New Agricultural Revolution, promoting Industrial Transformation, Accelerated Infrastructure Development, Digital Mainstreaming, Energy Security and Diversification, Expanding Health infrastructure and services, Undertaking a comprehensive review of existing reforms in the educational sector, Encouraging private sector investments in the development of world class tourism infrastructure, downsizing government, among others.

He said the GTP when deployed will solve graduate unemployment situations in Ghana. “The Great Transformation Plan will provide “Jobs for the People, Cash for the People.”

On education, apart from implementing reforms to boost the Free SHS Education, Mr Kyerematen said his government “will pay special attention to institutionalizing the link between industry, academia and educational institutions, and reinforce the importance of apprenticeship and internship”.

When elected, Mr. Kyerematen’s government will tackle the climate problems by Decarbonization and Climate Resilience.

“Scaling up Government’s current efforts at reducing Ghana’s carbon footprints and facilitating access to the carbon trading markets, as well as establishing mechanisms to strengthen the country’s preparedness against the negative effects of climate change and climate variability,” he stated.

The Government of Alan Kyerematen also promises to wage a strong war  against bribery and corruption in the country.
