Annoh Dompreh goes on Delegates suspension spree at Nsawam Adoagyiri

This came to light recently when he met polling station executives from the 29 electoral areas that constitute the electoral college in the election of parliamentary candidates

In what election watchers in Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency have described as “signs of a looser,” the Member of Parliament (MP) for the Nsawam Adoagyiri constituency and Majority Chief Whip, Frank Annoh Dompreh, has threatened to use the constituency chairman and secretary to continue the suspension spree of delegates in his constituency.

This came to light recently when he met polling station executives from the 29 electoral areas that constitute the electoral college in the election of parliamentary candidates. This followed his successful suspension of three delegates from the Darman electoral area: Mr. John Azaglo, Mr. Ebenezer Aboagye, and Mr. Daniel Nyakpo.

In an unusual emergency meeting, he informed the gathering of his intention to stand again as the parliamentary candidate for the 2024 parliamentary elections and swore by heaven and earth that he and the constituency executives would resist any attempt by any member of the party in the constituency to challenge him for the seat in the primaries.

He used the meeting to insult the constituency organizer, Mr. Peter Appiah, whom he accused of providing copies of the delegate’s album to potential contestants. Delegates from the Darman Electoral Area, whom he accused of sponsoring a candidate, were not spared as a barrage of insults were targeted at them, including the chiefs of the towns in the electoral area. He accused them of being ungrateful and not appreciating him for his performance as an MP.

He issued a threat and a warning to delegates not to grant audience to any potential aspirants in the constituency primaries, as he already has the backing of the party hierarchy to go unopposed due to his position as Majority Chief Whip. He informed the NPP faithful that he’s one of the three most important MPs in parliament, which is why he is the Majority Chief Whip.

The delegates, in speaking to this reporter, expressed disgust about the display of arrogance and sense of entitlement by the MP. They warn that, should the party take any measures to deter a contest, the party should prepare to lose the Nsawam Adoagyiri seat to the NDC.
