Manchester United manager Erik ten Hag ‘drools’ over Kobbie Mainoo’s masterclass against Liverpool

“If you are good enough, you are old enough and he proved that,” stated the impressed Dutch manager in a post-game press conference.

Manchester United’s manager, Erik ten Hag, has lauded the emerging talent, Kobbie Mainoo, for his remarkable contributions since debuting in the first team this season.

The 18-year-old English-born Ghanaian midfielder earned his third Premier League start against Liverpool at Anfield on Sunday, delivering a poised performance pivotal in securing an unexpected 0-0 draw.

“If you are good enough, you are old enough and he proved that,” stated the impressed Dutch manager in a post-game press conference.

Ten Hag expressed confidence that as Mainoo becomes more accustomed to high-stakes matches, his impact will continue to rise. He highlighted the midfielder’s scanning ability, quick decision-making, and proficiency in executing passes and switches that pose a threat to opponents.

“When he gets used more often to those games, we will get even more joy from it. Because then his scanning and his speed of action, he can get such passes, three or four passes in and get switches in, and he is the player who can really hurt opponents.”

Kobbie Mainoo is eligible to play for Ghana despite featuring for England in the junior sides.
