Michael Essien: I will never enter into politics, i hate it
Essien was part of the 2006 Ghana team that qualified to the FIFA World Cup tournament in Germany for the first time in Ghana’s history.
Former Ghana star Michael Essien, says he will never enter into politics in his life time because he hate politics.
In an interview with DW, the Ghana legend reviewed that he dislikes politics and has no interest in getting involved at any level at any point in his life.
“What I hate in my life is politics. I don’t think I will ever get involved at the political level,” he said.
However, he revealed that he is pursuing a career in football coaching because he enjoys working with young players and seeing them improve.
“I’m doing my badges because I love being around the players on the pitch, and I stay very close to them, talking to them, giving them advice and stuff like that. It makes me happy, rather than sitting in the office or on the phone talking to people,” Michael Essien indicated.
The legendary midfielder added, “People think that because you’ve been a professional player at the highest levels, it is easy to get into coaching, but it’s totally different. That’s why I have managed to take my time and take it day by day.”
Essien was part of the 2006 Ghana team that qualified to the FIFA World Cup tournament in Germany for the first time in Ghana’s history.
He recently declared that he’s never interested in coaching Ghana’s Black Stars team despite having the qualification.
