MTN presents gifts to 500 Christmas babies in 30 hospitals

“Christmas is a time to show love and boxing day has been set aside for giving, we are happy to see smiles on the faces of new born mothers. As you know, this is a thing we do annually, and across the country several members of staff are visiting select hospitals with gifts.”

MTN Ghana has once again put smiles on the faces of some 500 mothers who delivered babies during this Christmas season across the country.

Staff of company presented 500 hampers to the mothers of babies born on Christmas Day and Boxing Day on December 26 in 30 hospitals across all 16 regions of the country.

The hampers contained diapers, blankets, wipes, shawls, towels, bibs, clothes, toiletries and other baby essentials as well as airtime for each of the mothers.

The MTN staff, led by the Chief Corporate Services and Sustainability Officer, Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe also spent time with the mothers and newborns.

Adwoa Afriyie Wiafe said, “Christmas is a time to show love and boxing day has been set aside for giving, we are happy to see smiles on the faces of new born mothers. As you know, this is a thing we do annually, and across the country several members of staff are visiting select hospitals with gifts.”

Kissinna Kodareme, a beneficiary who delivered a baby girl on Christmas day at the Tamale Teaching Hospital expressed joy at the gesture and thanked MTN Ghana for instituting the exercise.

Michael Danso, Administrator at the Effia Nkwanta Regional Hospital, expressed gratitude to MTN Ghana for the distribution of hampers. He said “A lot of mothers need these items to cater for their new borns but the hospital cannot support them because of financial constraints; this shows that you are very responsible and we pray you continue to do more”.
