NPP Presidential Primaries: Don’t blame Bawumia for your Inability to court the Attention of Delegates

It's incumbent on other candidates to channel all their arsenals in restrategizing on how to attract the love and support from delegates but not to focus on Dr. Bawumia as their major campaign tool.

It is evident that Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia is the nightmare to all the other aspirants vying to lead the New Patriotic Party, NPP. It’s crystal clear that he is the heavyweight for them to take over per the response they get from delegates.

Without any shred of doubt, Majority of delegates have settled on the hard-working Vice President who continued to work for the interest of the Elephant fraternity. He came and never reneged but gave his all to the party when things were dire and difficult.

Interestingly, it’s not surprising the level of attacks he is receiving from other candidates who only focus on him as their major campaign tool. Some of them use all manner of unsavoury words on him simply to court the attention of delegates. Why should any serious candidate focus on his contender to court the attention of delegates?

On public records, it was made clear by one candidate who was interviewed and all what he could say was to the effect that, Dr. Bawumia is an established candidate and for that matter they are talking amongst themselves i.e a gang of eight against the candidature of Dr. Bawumia. Why must such a move be made in the first place? Is it that he is their headache? If so, why don’t they throw in the towel and rally behind him for unity?

In addition to that, another candidate who was interviewed on Good evening Ghana also put it bluntly the effects of covid 19 and Russia Ukraine war debacles on Ghana’s economy and other countries respectfully.

He bemoaned the level at which covid 19 and Russia Ukraine war have affected most countries and Ghana was not left out of the equation. But the question is, what has changed in his recent blame game tactics when he met delegates?

Unfortunately, he attacked Dr. Bawumia and the Party he wants to lead by saying all manner of unwarranted things as if he is not part of the current managers of the country. He is simply flip flopping to gain the support of delegates nicodemusly through his actions which could be described as double standard.

Quite not astonishing, the attitude of these candidates are not different from their support base who are also involved in such needless accusations and unsubstantiated allegations all targeting Dr. Bawumia and the Party as a whole.

In conclusion, it’s incumbent on other candidates to channel all their arsenals in restrategizing on how to attract the love and support from delegates but not to focus on Dr. Bawumia as their major campaign tool.
