TEIN-NDC must go beyond welcoming Freshers and holding Ceremonial Meetings on Campus – Elikem Kotoko

The Tertiary Educational Institutions Network of the National Democratic Congress (TEIN-NDC) – the intellectual youth wing of the party has been implored not to limit its functions to just welcoming freshers and holding meetings on campus but take innovative steps to build the party.

A former student leader and staunch activist of the NDC, Elikem Kotoko, who gave the advice on Saturday June 19, 2021, said everyone must contribute immensely to position the Youth front of the party for the 2024 general elections. He said this at on Saturday at a virtual forum organized by the Rejuvenated NDC Hub – a Pro NDC group. He spoke on the theme “The Role of Rejuvenated NDC Hub in making the NDC extremely attractive for the 2024 Elections”.

The meeting which was hosted by the deputy director of Elections of the NDC in the Dome-Kwabenya constituency, Comrade Albert Aheto, was chaired by Comrade Juliet Addison Sackey – a diehard NDC activist based in the USA.

“TEIN-NDC activities shouldn’t only be limited to general meetings and welcoming of freshers where some party big men use as an occasion to project themselves. How are we helping in the mentorship of these vibrant guys? What research work is the party tasking them to undertake?” A visibly passionate and charged party activist submitted.

He also emphasized the need for the party to identify itself with her ideological values and close the circles. This he believes will reposition the party for victory in 2024. He called on the youth of the party to shun the monetary enticements from the ruling party and remain loyal to the cause of the NDC.

The vibrant NDC activist who tried but failed in his bid to become the party’s Youth Organizer in the last executive elections in 2018 recounted how he rejected numerous bribe offers from top government officials during his days as a student leader and stayed true to the party’s cores values. He said such is the integrity that must guide the politics of today.
