“When NDC is in power they don’t recognize the Ashanti region, don’t vote for them” – Asenso Boakye

The Minister encouraged the people of Bantama and Ashanti Region as a whole to come out in their numbers to vote for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the general elections because NDC is not an option when it comes to development.

Member of Parliament for the Bantama Constituency in the Ashanti Region, Francis Asenso-Boakye, has berated political actors in the Ashanti region most especially Bantama constituency who support the largest opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC).

According to him, supporters who cast their votes for the NDC are making wrong decisions since there is nothing good coming from the NDC to the Ashanti region and Bantama to be precise.

Addressing residents in the constituency, the Minister for Works and Housing stated that he doesn’t understand why people keep on voting for the NDC.

“Truly, people of Bantama and Kumasi in general don’t see any development when the NDC is in power so if someone is here and the person votes for the NDC, I don’t understand them. They know that when NDC is in power they don’t recognize the Ashanti region. During former president John Dramani Mahama’s 4 years in power we didn’t see anything here” Asenso Boakye stated.

The Minister also encouraged the people of Bantama and Ashanti Region as a whole to come out in their numbers to vote for the ruling New Patriotic Party (NPP) during the general elections because NDC is not an option when it comes to development.

“If you want development in the Ashanti region and Bantama to be precise don’t look down on NPP because NDC is not an option. So I will urge you to settle all your differences and come out in your numbers to vote in this year’s general elections.” He advised.

Meanwhile, Francis Asenso Boakye has retained his position as the New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate for the Bantama Constituency in the party’s primaries ahead of the December 7 polls.

Mr. Asenso Boakye garnered 650 votes, representing 78.22% of the total votes cast. And his main contender, Lawyer Raphael Agyapong, brother of outspoken politician Kennedy Agyapong secured 181 votes, representing 21.78% of the overall vote count.

The MP elect expressed his profound gratitude to party executives for their support and trust.

He therefore called on them to unite and work hard to win the general elections.

“To all party executives of the New Patriotic Party in Bantama, I’m truly grateful for this resounding victory and for honouring me as the first Member of Parliament for Bantama to survive a re-election challenge. Let’s unite our efforts to achieve success in 2024!” He wrote on his X account.
