Be Grateful to God in All Ways – S.K Boafo urges Christians

Rev. Boafo made this call in a sermon in the church’s auditorium at Tantra Hill in Accra last Sunday, August 15, 2021

Head Pastor of City Temple International Chapel (UPS Ministries), the Hon. Rev. Dr. S. K. Boafo, has urged Christians to to give thanks and gratitude to God in all ways, their difficulties notwithstanding. He noted that but for His grace and mercies the impact of COVID-19 on mankind would have been more devastating, especially in third world countries like Ghana and other developing countries. He pointed out that whereas we take in His air free of charge, the oxygen placed on Covid-19 patients comes with great cost.

“Ingratitude will send mankind nowhere, taking into consideration this Covid-19 Pandemic era. That is why we should be grateful to God in all ways,” he stressed.

Rev. Boafo made this call in a sermon in the church’s auditorium at Tantra Hill in Accra last Sunday, August 15, 2021. He intimated that looking at one’s background, having come wherever far, are all signs of God’s grace and tender mercies. “It is against this background that we should be thankful to God in all ways”! He emphasized.

With emotion, he pointed out that the greatest disservice and ingratitude man can offer God is to give His Glory and praises to gods and human beings for the numerous blessings He gives to man.

“In all things, you must praise God and count your blessings one by one, no matter how tortuous your life journey has been. You must thank God in all things!! Rev. Boafo stated.

With Psalm 103:1ff, ‘Bless the Lord oh my soul….!! As the theme of his sermon, Rev. Boafo indicated that to bless God is adoration to Him. This statement he hinted appears 75 times in the Book of Psalms and 10times in the New Testament and total over 210 in the Bible.

The Rev. Minister stated that as humans and church, they should appreciate God for that He has been doing for them, noting that even human expects appreciation. He pointed that, sadly enough people tend to forget God few moments after He has answered their prayers and offered them bountiful blessings.

According to him, God’s blessings for mankind are enormous. They include forgiveness which ensures one’s entry into God presence. Rev. Boafo also mentioned these as part of God’s bountiful blessings to mankind.

GOD’S BLESSINGS TO MANKIND

Healing, redemption, Salvation, loving kindness, tender mercies, confidence, providence (food, clothing, shelter, wealth etc.), righteousness, grace, patients and many more.

Inter-pressing his sermons with befitting songs, Rev. Boafo charged his audience to be ever grateful to God in all things.  He pointed out that there were some who wanted to hear the Word of God as His audience were hearing but had been incapacitated to do so in one way or the other. Therefore those who find themselves alive and kicking should not forget to give gratitude to God. Sadly enough, some even forget God soon after church service. He bemoaned

Buttressing his point further, he cited Luke 17:17-20 on the story about the Ten cleansed lepers with only one going back to thank Jesus for His healing. The stance taken by remaining the nine which Jesus questioned, Rev. Boafo noted, was most unfortunate and ungrateful. This he said was not worth emulating.

“Count your blessings one by one in sincerity and offer gratitude to God from the bottom of your heart for the more you bless God, the more He blesses you,” he concluded.
