GES Director -General Applauds Ghana’s Top WAEC Students

It was “a historic day for me and the Ghanaian delegation who cheered our students on to receive the first, second and third place awards” Dr. Nkansah wrote in a statement.

Dr. Eric Nkansah, the Director –General of Ghana Education Service (GES) has congratulated three Ghanaian students for taking all top three (3) awards at the just ended 2023 West African Examinations Council (WAEC) International Excellence Awards.

They are; Amo-Kodieh Leonard Kofi Marton, St James Seminary Senior High School (Overall Best Student); ⁠Dzandu Selorm, Labone Senior High School; Second place and ⁠Daniel Asenso-Gyambibi also from St James Seminary Senior High School, Third place.

 

The three outstanding students were awarded at the 72nd Annual Council Meeting in Freetown, Sierra Leone held on Tuesday, 19th March 2024.

The International Excellence Awards for WASCCE for School Candidates are presented to the three (3) overall best candidates from the member countries that subscribe to the WASSCE, namely the Gambia, Liberia, Nigeria and Sierra Leone.
