GLOMEF Appoints Clement Boateng as Country Director for Ghana

Bringing a wealth of experience and fresh energy to GLOMEF, Mr. Boateng, with a background in development communication, organizational development, and management, has demonstrated a strong commitment to driving positive change and sustainable development in various roles within the non-profit sector.

Accomplished leader Clement Boateng has been appointed as the new Country Director for Ghana by the Global Media Foundation (GLOMEF), assuming a pivotal role with the mandate to advance the organization’s mission and new strategy in the country.

The announcement of Mr. Boateng’s appointment was made in a press release signed by the Founder/CEO of Global Media Foundation, Raphael Godlove Ahenu, with his tenure commencing from February 1, 2024.

Bringing a wealth of experience and fresh energy to GLOMEF, Mr. Boateng, with a background in development communication, organizational development, and management, has demonstrated a strong commitment to driving positive change and sustainable development in various roles within the non-profit sector.

In his new capacity, Mr. Boateng will oversee all aspects of the organization’s operations in Ghana, including strategic planning, project implementation, networking, and partnerships.

His leadership will play a crucial role in guiding the organization’s efforts to address pressing social, economic, and media development challenges in the country, utilizing innovative solutions and partnerships to make a meaningful impact.

Expressing his enthusiasm for the opportunity to contribute to Ghana’s development at a different level, Mr. Boateng emphasized the importance of collaboration and inclusivity in driving progress. He pledged to work closely with local communities, government agencies, and other stakeholders to achieve shared goals.

Mr. Boateng’s appointment has been met with widespread support and optimism, with many expressing confidence in his ability to lead the organization to new heights and effectively address the evolving needs of Ghanaian society.

With an extensive background in development communication, journalism, youth empowerment, advocacy, project management, and resource mobilization, Mr. Boateng has demonstrated a profound commitment to societal development.

His academic qualifications include a Master of Arts degree in Journalism and Mass Communication from Amity University, India, and a Bachelor of Arts degree in Integrated Development Studies from the University for Development Studies, Ghana.

Furthermore, he has earned diplomas in Sustainable Agriculture and Products in Developing Countries from the Danish Agricultural Advisory Centre, Denmark, along with diplomas in Journalism and Marketing from the Institute of Business Management and Journalism.

His post-graduate credentials in Project Management and NGO Management from the Cambridge Centre for Excellence, Ghana, and his current pursuit of a PhD in Social Change Communication at the University for Development Studies underscore his dedication to continuous learning and professional growth.

Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Mr. Boateng is an active member of several local and global leadership and professional networks.

His affiliations include being a Danida Fellow, a Journalist-to-Journalist (J2J) Fellow focusing on global media response to HIV/AIDS under the auspices of the National Press Foundation, USA, an Acumen West Africa Fellow, a Biosciences for Agriculture in Africa (B4FA) Fellow, and a member of both the African Network of Environmental Journalist (ANEJ) and the Ghana Journalists Association (GJA).
