Kwahu: Obomeng Hene urges ECG to Ensure stable power supply during Easter celebration

“I’m urging my people to take part in the fundraising initiative we’re embarking on to undertake developmental projects in Obomeng. I’ve also spoken to the ECG to as well provide us stable electricity throughout Easter because if we’re going to be experiencing power outages, it will be disastrous for us”,

Obomeng Hene Nana Effah Opinamang III has admonished expected celebrants of this year’s Kwahu Easter to be distinctive during the celebration of the 2024 Easter Festival, expected to take place on Friday, March 29.

The Euphoria in Kwahu is already building up, as evidenced by the various setups and stages planned for the Easter festival.

Nana Effah Opinamang III made the call on Sunday night, March 24, when he organised a vigil to commemorate and officially open the 2024 Easter festival.

“The resurrection of our lord has brought us good memories, and if we are honest enough to call on him, we’ll be saved. I’m much convinced that this year’s Easter, he will bring us good tidlings”, he stated.

However, he urged the general public to be vigilant, and decorum and ensure the safety of others. He said, in that sense, the festival would be a success for the entire country.

“We’re praying that the Lord will grant those who will be coming for the Easter a successful journey. We’re also urging them to desist from drunk driving, careless driving and overpeeding. We are asking them to exercise constraint and ensure their own safety”,

Nana Effah Opinamang III also sent out a word of caution to the many miscreants who would want to come to Kwahu and cause mayhem to have a change of mindset or be prepared to face the chiefs and the police.

“We’re aware some may come to Kwahu and disrupt events. Some may be involved in stealing and gangsterism. We’re asking those people to have a change of mind because the police are fully prepared to thwart and arrest such persons”, he added

He further charged the community and Obomeng indigene to partake in the ongoing fundraising to initiate development in Obomeng.

He said he’s had a conversation with the Electricity Company of Ghana to ensure a 247 power supply to aid the operations of the Police Service and the Easter festival as well.

“I’m urging my people to take part in the fundraising initiative we’re embarking on to undertake developmental projects in Obomeng. I’ve also spoken to the ECG to as well provide us stable electricity throughout Easter because if we’re going to be experiencing power outages, it will be disastrous for us”, he indicated.

Kwahu is waiting for another year of the preserved, colourful and fun-bubbling 2024 Easter festival.

The Ghana Tourism Authority on March 13, launched the 2024 Paragliding Festival at Abene. Persons looking forward to experiencing the adventure of Paragliding will be required to pay Gh1,000 cedis per passenger.
