Oppong-Nkrumah inspects sea defence projects in coastal areas

The Minister underscores the paramount importance of safeguarding lives and livelihoods in these vulnerable areas. This proactive approach highlights Ghana’s commitment to ecological resilience along its coastal stretch.

The Minister of Works and Housing, Kojo Oppong-Nkrumah is currently in the Central and Western regions, embarking on a working visit to inspect the progress of works on sea defence projects.

The initiative, overseen by the Ministry’s implementing agency, the Ghana Hydrological Authority, aims to fortify coastal communities against the devastating effects of sea erosion exacerbated by climate change.

The visit took him to project sites in Anomabo, Cape Coast, Elmina and Komenda in the Central Region as well as Shama, Aboadze, Takoradi, Kwesiminstin, Dixcove and Axim in the Western Region.
