Homowo: Pokuase goes Red in Grand Style
Clad in Red and black the celebrants drummed, sang and danced while matching through the principal streets of the town with the chief Wolumo and elders sprinkling “Kpokpoi”
Amidst drumming, singing, dancing and Merry Making the Chief of Pokuase ……elders of the Nii Doodu Royal family celebrated this years Homowo in grand style.
Clad in Red and black the celebrants drummed, sang and danced while matching through the principal streets of the town with the chief Wolumo and elders sprinkling “Kpokpoi”.
The ceremony that started at mid-day travelled deep into the might, sending the entire township ……………… and in peace and harmony, as the celebrants, sang, danced, dinned and made merry.
DOOM SAYER SHOWED
According Dr.Rockson Aduboahen council of the Royal stool, doom-sayers in town nearly aborted this august and necessary celebration. As struggle it out at the Otublohim’s end before it could take place. He stated that by his peaceful and joyous celebration, all those doom sayers had been put to shame.
Corroborating it Aaron Nii Doodu Prince and leader of the Pokuase Asafo group described the occasion as fire and beautiful and successful.
He intimated that due to some misinformation and misconception about the ceremony it nearly did not come on. However, due to the blessings of god the Almighty, the gods of the land ancestors an the celebrants in general, everything came to a successful ending, this shaming ill-wishers.
While thaking all for the success story, he wished well for all including the poor, children, the venerable and citizenry, Nii Doodu asked healing for the sick
HOMOWO NOT FETISH
According to nuumo Gbelenelo III, Homowo anf the sprinkling of Kpekple is not fetish as some people perceived it. He ststed that this is done in remembrance of their forefathers and ancestors and also to thank God and show his powers.
